Orion FT appoints Kate Williams as new Technical Manager
Orion FT has appointed Kate Williams as technical manager to drive the technical development and applications of their silicon-based crop nutrients.
Kate has a degree in biology from the University of Bath and has been technical manager at Berry World for the past 10 years. Her responsibilities during that time included, product innovation and development, technical advice to local and international growers as well as technical customer support for UK supermarkets including Co-op and Asda.
Kate was delighted at the opportunity to join Orion, she comments; “Orion has a really exciting portfolio of products and the supporting data that goes with these products is extensive, stretching back over a decade. This wealth of information, on multiple crops highlights the opportunities and benefits silicon brings to modern farming practices. I’m looking forward to furthering our understanding of the role silicon plays within crops, developing new applications and supporting growers technically in the field.”
James Kennedy, commercial director at Orion, comments “We are delighted to welcome Kate to the Orion team. Her previous experience will be a huge asset to Orion as we continue to grow, not only in the UK but also abroad. Having Kate on board to drive our technical platform will demonstrate the importance of silicon in sustainable crop production and help to develop further understanding in the market.”
